The #33 CJWR Porsche Fresno/HD Radio Porsche Cayman made a welcome return to the podium with an outstanding third place finish at Lime Rock Park. The result leaves drivers Marc Miller and Till Bechtolsheimer just five points off the Continental Tire SportsCar Championship lead with four races remaining.
June has been a busy time for CJ, which has seen him spend all of it in Europe. His almost month-long trip began with his first ever visit to the mighty Spa-Francorchamps circuit in the heart of Belgium's Ardennes Forest. This would be exciting enough if he was simply spectating, but CJ was there to race in the 2017 Henderson Insurance Brokers LMP3 Cup for United Autosports.
McLaren today announced a partnership with CJ Wilson Racing which will see the Austin based sportscar team organize and promote one of the qualifying rounds of the British marque's innovative gaming initiative, the World's Fastest Gamer. The unique agreement will deliver global audiences and interest from both traditional Motorsport fans and those new to the sport – a key priority of the programme.
This morning at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, CJ Wilson Racing announced a commercial and promotional partnership with HD Radio. This season-long deal will see the HD Radio brand feature on all of the Austin based team’s Porsches competing in the IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge and the IMSA Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA by Yokohama.
The twenty one mile journey from the CJ Wilson Racing race shop in Austin to the Circuit of the Americas takes approximately twenty minutes. The fact that the team haulers can leave the shop on the same day that they are due to load-in at the Austin track adds additional days of preparation time for the team and crew who are now already in what feels like mid-season mode.
CJWR's Porsche racer, Till Bechtolsheimer, loves racing classic and historic cars. He embraces the challenge of narrow tires, live axels, leaf springs, drum brakes, non-stop wheel spin, pre-selector transmissions, turbo lag and the numerous other characteristics of cars dating from the thirties to the early eighties.
CJ Wilson Racing today announced a partnership with Houston based Winward Racing whose drivers will join CJWR for all ten rounds of the 2017 Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge. Open-wheel and GT veteran Damien Faulkner will partner with 24 year-old Russell Ward in the team’s GS-Class #35 Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport backed by Techemet LP, a World leader in automobile catalytic converter recycling and precious metal trading services based in Pasadena, Texas. Reserve driver Bryce Ward may also drive in selected events during the season.
CJ Wilson has announced a multi-level dealership agreement with British specialist auto manufacturer, Briggs Automotive Company (BAC) Limited and CJ Wilson Racing team. The partnership will see CJ Wilson Racing and Entertainment become the exclusive dealership and service facility for BAC’s Mono supercar in the Arizona and North Texas markets.
