This morning at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, CJ Wilson Racing announced a commercial and promotional partnership with HD Radio. This season-long deal will see the HD Radio brand feature on all of the Austin based team’s Porsches competing in the IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge and the IMSA Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA by Yokohama.

Wilson who has just embarked on his debut season of full-time professional racing is a regular listener to the additional programming available on HD2 and HD3 channels in the California market. “For the last few of years living in Los Angeles, I have been inundated with pop culture and pop music, and everything is cutting edge. The radio stations, however, were lacking somewhat in creativity. So when I bought a car with HD Radio, it was great that I could listen to music that was totally different and on a different level with incredible sound quality.“

The opportunity to share his musical passion and give listeners an insight into the genres and artists that have inspired him throughout his career as a professional athlete was one Wilson did not want to miss. “I’m really excited to be involved with HD Radio and as we roll out this program you’ll see and hear some of the music that has motivated me to be successful as a baseball player and hopefully now as a racecar driver,” enthused the pitcher turned racer.

More than 39 million cars on the road in the US across all automakers, including Porsche, feature HD Radio receivers, with more than 2,400 stations broadcasting in crystal clear, subscription-free HD Radio technology providing listeners with more choices from their favorite local stations. HD Radio is an Xperi Corporation brand and technology. For more information, visit www.hdradio.com
