CJWR PARTNERS WITH OPERATION MOTORSPORT FOR WATKINS GLEN

CJ Wilson Racing today announced it has renewed its partnership with Operation Motorsport, the non-profit organization that provides recovery, retraining and rehabilitation opportunities to injured service members and veterans through motorsport. Sergeant Timothy Bernard (Fort Drum, NY) - Computer Detector System Repair (94F) with 10 yrs. of service, including one combat tour in Afghanistan, will join the team for the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen event. He will ‘take over’ the team’s social media accounts and provide additional photography in and around the pits and paddock focusing on the more personal side of the team and the sport itself.

Tiffany Lodder, the Executive Director of Operation Motorsport is delighted with the response from the IMSA Paddock. "We think it's wonderful that we are able to partner with teams like CJ Wilson Racing once again! CJWR was one of our first teams to step up and provide an opportunity to demonstrate to a medically releasing soldier the extent of their transferable skills. I know that this is a special weekend and that Timothy will be given every opportunity, guidance, and trust to explore all that this opportunity has to offer, and although this may never lead to a career in motorsports it is the beginning of a personal path to recovery and we can all rest assured that we played a positive role on that journey."

“When Operation Motorsport came to us prior to it’s launch in 2017, we could not have signed on fast enough,” explained Declan Brennan, Strategic Branding and PR Director for the Austin, Texas based CJ Wilson Racing. Brennan went to to further outline how “the whole program was something CJ Wilson Racing felt compelled to get behind and our work with Alex Z. at Virginia International Raceway, last season, was enormously satisfying. Even more so when we found out just how positive an impact the event has had on his life since then.”

Sergeant Bernard will work with CJ Wilson’s WeatherTech SportsCar Championship team for the duration of the event up to and including Sunday’s Sahlen’s Six Hours at The Glen event. The Green Flag drops at 9:45am EST on Sunday, July 1st.  You can follow his social media ‘take over’ across the weekend on the CJ Wilson Racing Twitter feed at https://twitter.com/CJWilsonRacing and on the CJ Wilson Racing Instagram feed at https://www.instagram.com/cjwilsonracing.
